1. How old should my child be before seeing an Orthodontist?

Answer: The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that a child be seen by an orthodontist by age 7.


2. Should I wait until my child has all the permanent teeth before seeing an orthodontist?

Answer: No. Many orthodontic problems such as malposition, alignment problem, jaw growth problems can be detected by age six. jaw relation problem and conditions leading to jaw relation problems are best treated early to avoid more serious problems later on.


3. Am I too old for braces?

Answer: Adults who have good supporting bone structure are never too old for braces. Our office provides comprehensive orthodontic care to a large number of adults who benefit from orthodontic treatment and enjoy the benefit of having a beautiful smile.


4. How much do braces cost?

Answer: The cost depends upon the problem types and severity, the required treatment and the types of braces. After the examination the orthodontist can tell you how much treatment will cost. This varies from one person to another.


5. Is it affordable?

Answer: Yes. Almost everyone can afford braces at our office. We do our best to offer flexible plans to accommodate any budget. We offer monthly payment plans. We also accept major credit cards : Discover Card, Master Card and Visa.


6. Do you accept insurance?

Answer: Yes. We accept most insurance plans as well as State Medi-Cal Dental program. The office will submit all necessary paperwork on behalf of our patients at no charge to help maximize your insurance benefit.


7. Do I need to be referred by my dentist?

Answer: No. You do not need a referral from your dentist. You may call to schedule an appointment with our office yourself.


8. What is an orthodontist, anyway?

Answer: An orthodontist is a specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.


9. How many years of school does it take to become an orthodontist?

Answer: It takes 22 years!
